A LITTLE HISTORY
In the first week of May 2012, we, Bart and Judy found ourselves writing our new year’s resolutions at a wonderful little restaurant in Paris called Le Petit Zinc. I was soon to be 67, we had been producing our cookies for almost 6 years.
It was in Paris, several years earlier (Le Bon Marche, to be exact,) where we were embarrassed to find a low-quality USA mass-market brand representing America! (against a backdrop of epicurean delicacies from around the world.) It was an embarrassing commentary that we took personally.
Judy and I returned to LA, sold our house, bought a 140 foot oven designed a box & began baking cookies. For 18 months we lived in our “Personal Adventure Vehicle” (Elvis Presley 1952 bus) in the parking lot of our bakery, while we learned how to bake! Our cookies are more than “cookies.” Our mission is to sustain ideals and propagate happiness.
In spite of our decidedly unconventional approach, and everyone thinking we were crazy, that’s what we did..
The big question was whether we could transition our enterprise into becoming self-supporting.
